Nancy Moran, LCSW, ACT has been dedicated to children, adolescents, and adults and their mental health concerns for over 25 years.
After earning a graduate degree from Fordham University and achieving licensure in the state of NJ, she worked with adolescents in school based settings for many years before joining a behavioral health team in a medical setting.
In 2014 she earned the distinction of Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. This designation is reserved for clinicians who have demonstrated advanced academic and clinical expertise in the field of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
“I don’t believe people need to go to therapy for a lifetime. I work to empower individuals to understand past, present, and future roadblocks and how to chart a course around them. My goal is for my clients to feel confident they will catch their thinking traps and learn how to enact a better approach.”
My first love as a therapist was working with children and adolescents. A young child grows and changes so quickly, it’s amazing to see the resiliency and ability to incorporate new information and behaviors. Teenagers are just on the cusp of becoming their own person. It is a time of incredible growth, and a perfect time to course correct. The challenges of being an adolescent are well-known to us all, but the present times add considerably more “stuff.”
“Children love me for my willingness to be playful and silly. I enjoy being creative and energetic in this therapy that often has me wearing the hat of a teacher. Teens appreciate my willingness to be real and honest. They know I am an authentic person who can be trusted.”
“I’m also equally comfortable working with adults of all ages. Personal and emotional concerns are addressed with the utmost professionalism and expertise. Common concerns include anxiety, panic attacks, fears or phobias, OCD, parenting difficulties, relationship concerns, or adjustment to life challenges.”
